Upgrade to ERP 6.0 EHP7 -> Error in MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT

Hi Folks.

I'm upgrading a system from EHP4 to EHP7 and in phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT the SUM SP10 tool can not start the shadow instance.

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT!

Last error code set: Shadow instance couldn't be started, check 'STARTSSC.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG': Process /usr/sap/E11/SUM/abap/exe/sapcontrol exited with 2, see '/usr/sap/E11/SUM/abap/log/SAPup.ECO' for details

 

To analyze errors during the start of the shadow instance, check the 'STARTSSC.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG' files in directory '/usr/sap/E11/SUM/abap/log'.

Repeat the phase until the shadow instance is started and you can log on to instance number '12'.

I checked the kernel files in /usr/sap/E11/SUM/abap/exe/ and they seem to be fine (Kernel 7.40) Patch 37

I also tried to use newer kernel version but without any change. The shadow instance comes up without dispatcher and then it dies. Neither DEVTRACE nor STARTSSC.log (attached) seem to give more information.

System ist Linux SuSE 11.3 with MaxDB 7.9.08.08
