Just to clarify,
1. do you mean the AdaptiveProcessingServer was up and running and working before you removed the log files from the logging directory?
2. have you check the /var/log/messages for error or warning associated the AdaptiveProcessingServer startup failure?
3. what BO production version do you have? BOXI3.1 or BI4.0/4.1 and service pack and fix pack level?
