SAP POWL Configuration steps for SAP FI

Dear Experts,

I am planning to use SAP POWL for my client, but before that I want to know the benefits of using POWL and how it is more useful than running the reports and other activities in simple R/3.

What are its uses and which types of reports and activities can be carried out with POWL?

Please also give configuration steps from FI Side for POWL settings.
